These terms govern your use of thesidedoor.co.uk and take effect the moment you use the site; if you do not accept them, stop using it. They are written to be read rather than skimmed past, because two of the clauses below genuinely matter to anyone acting on what is published here: the one about accuracy of figures, and the one about liability for decisions made on the basis of them. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

What this site is

An independent publication about advertising inventory on 18+ websites, aimed at media buyers and site owners. It compares seven advertising platforms on entry and exit terms, explains ad formats, and records regulatory changes that affect which inventory can be sold in which market. It is not an advertising network, does not sell traffic, does not host adult content and cannot open, operate or intervene in an account on any platform discussed. Who may use it

The site is intended for people aged 18 or over working in advertising, affiliate marketing or website monetisation. It is not directed at children, and it is your responsibility to ensure that accessing material about 18+ advertising is lawful where you are. Nothing here is an inducement to advertise in any particular market, and local law on adult advertising varies sharply between jurisdictions and changes frequently, as the site itself documents.

Accuracy of published figures

Deposit minimums, payout floors, payment schedules and similar figures are transcribed from third-party documents on a stated date, and every one of them can change without notice and without our knowledge. We check them on a cycle and correct them on evidence, but a figure on this site is a record of what a document said when it was read, not a guarantee of what a platform will offer you today. Verify any number against the platform’s own payment page before you commit a budget. Price ranges are third-party estimates and are labelled as such, because no platform in the comparison publishes a rate card.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax or regulatory advice, and it must not be relied on as a substitute for advice from someone qualified in your jurisdiction who knows your circumstances. Descriptions of age-verification laws, enforcement actions and market access are journalism about publicly available material, not an opinion on whether a particular campaign or business model is lawful for you to run. If a decision turns on a legal question, take proper advice before making it.

Affiliate links and monetisation

The site earns commission when a reader follows a sign-up button and registers with AdsCompass, at no cost to that reader. That relationship is disclosed in full in the affiliate disclosure and constrained by the advertising policy. It does not alter any factual column in the comparison and does not create a relationship between you and this site if you follow such a link: your contract on registering is with the platform, on its terms, and we are not a party to it.

Use of the material

Text, tables, layout and images on this site are protected by copyright and remain the property of the operator, except where third-party material is identified. You may read, print and share pages for your own use, and you may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link. You may not republish a comparison table in full, reproduce a page substantially in whole, present the material as your own, or use it to train or populate a competing dataset or publication without written permission.

Links to third-party sites

External links exist so a claim can be verified at its source, or, in the case of sign-up buttons, so a reader can act on it. We do not control any external site, its content, its terms or its data practices, and inclusion of a link is not an endorsement of the destination or of anything sold there. Once you leave this site, the destination’s own terms and privacy policy govern; our privacy policy stops at the boundary of this domain.

Availability

The site is provided as it is and as available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or continuously current, and we may change, suspend, withdraw or restrict any part of it, including removing or rewriting pages, without notice. We do not guarantee that a page you relied on will remain in the same form, which is one reason material corrections are noted on the page rather than made silently.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on anything published on it, including advertising spend, lost revenue, lost profits, business interruption, or action taken against your account by any platform. This is not a formality: the subject is commercial decisions with real budgets attached, and the decision to fund an account is yours alone. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Acceptable use

You may not use this site in any way that breaks the law, infringes someone else’s rights, or interferes with its operation or with anyone else’s use of it. That includes automated scraping at a rate that degrades service, attempts to probe or bypass security, introducing malicious code, and harvesting the site’s contact addresses for unsolicited mail. Reasonable, well-behaved crawling by search engines is expected and welcome, and the rules for it are published in the site’s robots file rather than left implicit.

No relationship with the platforms discussed

Naming a platform on this site does not make us its agent, representative or partner, with the single exception of the affiliate relationship disclosed on every relevant page. We cannot approve an account, restore a suspended one, release withheld funds, escalate a moderation decision or obtain a refund on your behalf, and we do not hold funds for anyone. Trade marks and platform names appear for identification and comment only, and remain the property of their owners.

Your indemnity

If your use of this site in breach of these terms causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal costs. This clause exists for a narrow set of situations, principally large-scale republication of our material and abusive automated access, rather than for ordinary reading, quoting or disagreeing with what is published.

Complaints about content

If you believe a page here contains a factual error, infringes your rights or misrepresents your platform, write to us with the page, the specific passage and the evidence, and it will be assessed on the merits rather than on who is asking. Confirmed factual errors are corrected quickly under the editorial policy. Requests to remove accurate, sourced information because it is commercially inconvenient are declined, and that applies equally to the platform that funds this site.

Entire agreement and severability

These terms, together with the privacy policy and cookie policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of this site, and they replace any earlier version. If a court finds any provision unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remainder continues in force. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it, and no third party has a right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms, and the current version is always the one published here with the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the amended version. Substantive changes will be reflected in that date rather than made quietly, on the same principle that governs corrections to the rest of the site.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
