about
The Side Door bistro is located in theatreland - Liverpool’s discerning dining quarter. The decor in cream and deep red tones give the bistro a classy light feel and together with the candlesticks, rustic bare floors and the Parisian accoustics do indeed firmly place The Side Door in theatreland.
The owners, Sean Miller and Sheila Benson, make use of local producers wherever possible. As Sean Miller says “A lot of people don’t realise that some of the country’s finest producers of fresh food are right on our doorstep. Formby’s asparagus fields are nationally acclaimed, as is the North Sea cod we have delivered daily from Fleetwood”.
The menu changes every week with a few items remaining constant. Fish is a regular theme which is not surprising being so close to Fleetwood and an excellent fish merchant, so good in fact the fish are often straight off the boats. Sean is also well known for his homemade English puddings and he does a popular sticky toffee pudding, hot chocolate brownie and bread and butter pudding to name just a few. As Will Thorne writing for ‘Your Move’ magazine said;
“Friendly and efficient sevice, top quality food and an unrivalled ambience make The Side Door a perfect option for pre or post theatre dining”.
